EuroHPC Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC JU) was established to create a world-class supercomputer ecosystem and data infrastructure in Europe and to support the competitive and innovative High-Performance Computing (HPC) and Big Data ecosystem. TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM has been working in this field since 2003 and serves HPC resources to all research institutions and researchers in our country.

In this talk, the EuroCC project and the work of the National Competence Center (NCC) established in Türkiye will be explained. EuroCC supports interdisciplinary collaborative work by establishing NCCs in participating countries and creating a network of NCCs across Europe.

NCC Türkiye was established under the coordination of TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM with the participation of Middle East Technical University (METU), Sabancı University (SU), and National Center for High Performance Computing (ITU UHeM).  During the last three years, training and consultancy services have been provided in material sciences, molecular dynamics, bioinformatics, fluid dynamics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. In addition, efforts have been carried out to improve university-industry collaborations and to take the current level of HPC use in academia, public, and industry to the next level.

The main purpose of the EuroCC2 project, launched on 01.01.2023 as a continuation of EuroCC; is to provide institutions that need to use HPC resources with the necessary expertise to use supercomputing systems supported by EuroHPC JU.
