Course description: Artificial intelligence transformation is not simply a technology investment or tool-adoption exercise. It changes workflows, roles, decision rights, organisational culture and governance. This course equips managers and transformation leaders with a practical framework for leading that change in a strategic, human-centred and scalable way. Participants learn to formulate a clear AI transformation thesis that links a strategic outcome to a workflow and the behavioral change required to deliver it. They assess organisational readiness across strategy, data, process maturity, leadership sponsorship, employee trust, governance and local context. The course then examines resistance through perceived loss and psychological safety, applying the Prosci ADKAR model to leadership, communication and support. It also addresses human-AI work design, human-in-the-loop controls, changing roles and role-based capability development. The final module connects governance, ethics, risk, human oversight and success metrics with a 90-day path from pilot to responsible scale. The course also situates organisational readiness and responsible scaling within the BSC AI Factory ecosystem, highlighting the computing capabilities available through EuroHPC JU and the national infrastructure and support provided through Turkish Science e-Infrastructure (TRUBA).
Prerequisites: Basic familiarity with AI concepts and organisational processes is recommended. No coding or specialist technical background is required.
Learning Outcomes:
After completing the course, participants will be able to:
- evaluate an AI transformation across technology, people, processes, culture and governance;
- develop a clear and measurable transformation thesis for a proposed AI initiative;
- diagnose strategic, cultural, operational and governance readiness gaps;
- interpret employee resistance as a combination of perceived loss, trust and psychological-safety concerns;
- map human-AI responsibilities, oversight points and new role-based capabilities at workflow level; and
- outline governance controls, success measures and a 90-day route from pilot to responsible scale.
Agenda:
Module 1: Framing AI transformation correctly (AI as organisational change, the transformation thesis, strategic outcomes, workflows, roles, culture and behavioural change)
Module 2: Organisational readiness and transformation capacity (strategic clarity, data standardisation, process maturity, leadership sponsorship, employee trust, governance mechanisms, local context and the AI Readiness Snapshot)
Module 3: Resistance, trust and psychological safety (perceived loss, job and autonomy concerns, responsibility gaps, the Prosci ADKAR model, psychological safety, leadership, communication and support)
Module 4: Human-AI work design, workflow redesign and new capabilities (end-to-end workflow redesign, human-in-the-loop control points, role transformation, hybrid responsibilities, role-based AI literacy and capability development)
Module 5: AI governance, risk management and scaling beyond pilots (acceptable and high-risk uses, human oversight, explanation policy, ethics, regulatory considerations, risk-control tables, success metrics and a 90-day scaling roadmap)
